Free WordPress plugin · WCAG 2.2 AA

The accessible events plugin, live.

Every event on this page states the accommodations it provides — wheelchair access, live captions, sign language and more. Accessibility is the product, not an afterthought.

  • WCAG 2.2 AA audited
  • 0 axe-core violations
  • 9 accommodation types
  • Free & GPL

“Accessibility at this event”

Each event declares what it provides in an icon-labelled panel visitors see before they register. No other mainstream events plugin does this.

Filter by accommodation

Visitors who need captions or a wheelchair-accessible venue can narrow the list to only the events that provide them.

Accessible add-to-calendar

A labelled .ics download on every event, plus a Subscribe button that keeps the whole calendar current in any calendar app.

One shortcode — [[ananevt_events]] — renders everything below. Filter it, switch Grid and List, open any card. All keyboard operable, all announced to screen readers.

The standout feature

Attendees know before they register, not after they arrive.

Open any event above. Alongside the accessible Event details panel and Add to calendar button sits the “Accessibility at this event” panel — a clear, icon-labelled list of what the event provides, with a note on how to request more.

Built to WCAG 2.2 AA, front and back

What visitors get

  • Real <time> markup and Schema.org Event data — dates machine-readable for screen readers and search engines alike.
  • Keyboard-operable filters, view switch and pagination — visible 3 px focus ring, 44 px targets.
  • Status stated in words (Upcoming / Past), never colour alone; icons always carry text labels.
  • Online events can show the start time in the visitor’s own timezone, automatically.

What site owners get

  • An audited admin: labelled meta boxes, native date inputs and an ARIA live-region announcement when the list is filtered.
  • A dedicated Event post type — your events survive any theme change.
  • Simple on/off toggles for every behaviour, and an optional enquiry form on each event.
  • Verified with axe-core: 0 violations across WCAG 2.0 / 2.1 / 2.2 A & AA, front end and admin.

New — the accessible timeline

A community is more than its next event. The [[ananevt_timeline]] shortcode weaves this site’s blog posts and events into one flowing, accessible timeline — five designs, year pills, Event/Blog tags and a no-JavaScript “Load more”. See every design live:
