Articles on making websites and mobile applications usable by people with disabilities. Everything here comes out of client work rather than theory, so the examples are the failures I keep meeting in real audits: forms with placeholders instead of labels, sliders that start on their own and cannot be paused, and contrast that looks fine on the designer’s screen but disappears for everybody else.
You will find WCAG 2.2 explained in plain language, what an audit actually looks at, how JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack behave differently on the same page, and what the ADA and Section 508 ask of a website owner in practice. If you are starting out, the WCAG 2.2 checklist is the place to begin. If a demand letter has already arrived, read what to do about a demand letter first.
